Split Row Sports · Legal
Privacy Policy
Effective October 11, 2026
This policy explains what information Split Row Sports ("Split Row," "we," "us") collects when you visit splitrow.com or ratings.splitrow.com (together, the "Site"), how it is used, and the choices you have. The short version: you can use the whole Site without an account, we don't ask for your personal information, and we don't sell it.
Who we are
Split Row Sports (Split Row Sports, Virginia, USA) is an independent sports site and is responsible for the personal information described in this policy (the "controller" under EU and UK law). It publishes college football computer rankings, game predictions, player production ratings and Player of the Week picks. You can reach us any time at [email protected].
Information we collect
- Information you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address, name (if you include it) and whatever you write. We use it only to reply and keep a record of the conversation.
- Technical information. Like nearly every website, our hosting and security provider (Cloudflare) automatically processes basic request data when you load a page, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page and the time of the request. This is used to deliver the Site, keep it fast and protect it from abuse.
- Usage statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see overall traffic (for example, page views and which pages are popular). It does not use cookies and does not build a profile of you.
- Advertising data. We use Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners may collect information, such as cookie or device identifiers, IP address, approximate location and pages viewed, through cookies and similar technologies. See Cookies & Ads below.
The Site has no user accounts, sign-ups, comment sections or payment forms, and we do not knowingly collect sensitive information.
How we use information
- To run, secure and improve the Site.
- To understand which pages and features people use.
- To show ads that help pay for the Site.
- To answer your emails.
- To comply with the law and protect our rights, our visitors and the Site.
How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only:
- With service providers that help us run the Site and handle email, such as Cloudflare (hosting, security, analytics and email forwarding) and Yahoo (our email inbox).
- With advertising partners such as Google, as described in Cookies & Ads.
- When required by law, or to protect the safety, rights or property of us, our visitors or others.
- If Split Row Sports is ever sold or reorganized, as part of that transaction.
If you interact with us on X (@SplitRowSports), X's own privacy policy applies to that platform.
Some U.S. state laws treat personalized advertising as "selling" or "sharing" personal information. You can opt out of this "selling" or "sharing" (Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information) at any time using the "Privacy choices" link in the footer, the links in Cookies & Ads, by turning on a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser (we treat it as an opt-out), or by emailing us.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we have about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to opt out of targeted advertising. Because we collect very little, most requests are simple. Email [email protected] and we will respond within 45 days. We will not treat you differently for making a request.
U.S. state privacy rights (California, Virginia and others)
In the past 12 months we have collected these categories of personal information: identifiers (such as IP address and cookie or device IDs), internet activity (pages viewed and interactions with ads), approximate location derived from IP address, and, if you email us, your contact details and message. Sources are you, your browser and our service and advertising providers. We use them for the purposes in "How we use information" and disclose them to the providers in "How information is shared." We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information.
Residents of California, Virginia and other states with privacy laws may request access, correction, deletion, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and targeted advertising. You may use an authorized agent with written permission; we may ask you or the agent to verify the request. If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision email, and we will respond to the appeal within 60 days. If the appeal is denied, Virginia residents may contact the Virginia Attorney General.
Do Not Track. Browsers' "Do Not Track" signals have no common standard, so we do not respond to them. We do honor Global Privacy Control as described above.
Visitors in the EEA, UK, Switzerland, Canada and Brazil
The controller of your information is Split Row Sports, Virginia, USA, reachable at [email protected]. We rely on these legal bases: our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving the Site and answering your emails; your consent for personalized advertising and non-essential cookies (which you can withdraw at any time with the "Privacy choices" link in the footer); and legal obligations where they apply.
You have the right to access, correct or delete your information, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, to withdraw consent at any time (without affecting earlier processing), and to complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office). Canadian residents have rights under PIPEDA, and Brazilian residents under the LGPD, including to confirm processing, access, correct, anonymize or delete data and to learn who we share it with. For any of these requests, or as our privacy contact (data protection officer contact under the LGPD), email [email protected].
Your information is processed in the United States, which may not have the same data protection laws as your country. Transfers rely on our providers' safeguards, such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (and its UK and Swiss extensions) and Standard Contractual Clauses.
Children
The Site is for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under those ages, and our ads are not directed to children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
Data retention and security
We keep emails only as long as needed to respond and keep reasonable records, generally no longer than two years. Request logs are kept by our providers under their own retention policies. We use reputable providers and reasonable safeguards, but no website or transmission over the internet is completely secure.
Links to other sites
The Site may link to other websites, and ads may lead to advertisers' sites. Their privacy practices are their own, so please review their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Site grows. The effective date at the top will change, and significant changes will be noted on the Site.
